HKETO welcomes Chinese New Year through a series of receptions over the next three weeks across Australia and New Zealand. Celebrations have already taken place in Adelaide on 19 February 2014 and featured business, community and political leaders.

“Chinese New Year is one of the most significant events in the Chinese calendar and each year, we reach out to business, community and political leaders to celebrate the festivities. Our receptions are a reminder that the HKETO is here to foster better relationships between Australia, New Zealand and Hong Kong,” said Steve Barclay, Director of the HKETO.

The Chinese New Year receptions are held in conjunction with the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hong Kong Tourism Board, Invest Hong Kong and the local chapters of the HKABA and the HKNZABA.

The members of ACFDA attending the event included Executive President Stephen Chen, Executive Vice President Andy Zhou, Vice President Sophia Provatidis and Culture Adviser Peter Mermingis.
